Public social-platform data delivered as an API

The challenge

A research client needed public post data from an alternative social platform — the kind of source that supports trust-and-safety and academic research, but which offers no usable data access of its own. They needed it delivered in a way their research pipeline could query directly, and handled responsibly given the sensitivity of social data.

What we built

We built collection of public post and account-level metadata from the platform, delivered via API rather than as static exports so the client's research pipeline could query it directly. We collected public content only, with personal identifiers handled under our standard PII policy — appropriate care for a research context and a sensitive source.

How it's delivered

The data is delivered as a queryable API the client's research systems call directly, returning public post and metadata records. Delivering it as an API rather than files meant the research pipeline could consume it continuously rather than in batches — aligned with our social media data approach.

The outcome

The research client gained programmatic access to public data from a platform that provides none of its own — delivered responsibly, public-only, and in a form their pipeline could query directly. It enabled the kind of trust-and-safety and academic research that depends on structured access to public social data.
